GPI Greater Halifax Add-On Services

Serving Halifax, Dartmouth, Lower Sackville, Bedford, Hammonds Plains, Fall River and Surrounding Areas

In addition to general residential and commercial property inspections, GPI offers a suite of services that can be tailored to your specific needs. Below, you will find a list of each additional service offered by your local GPI Greater Halifax team.

Using an infrared camera specially designed to identify changes in temperature, your GPI inspector will scan and analyze your home’s walls, ceilings and more. Hot spots can indicate potential hazards such as wiring issues, while cold spots can mean moisture or missing insulation. An infrared inspection sheds light on the small issues you can’t see before they become big problems.

GPI inspector Lawrence Englehart is a certified sewer scan technician. A sewer scan is conducted with a highly sensitive camera that allows you the opportunity to see your sewer line and any hidden issues that may be lurking beneath the soil. Sewer scans are recommended for both older and brand new homes to save owners from exorbitant repair costs.

Radon is a naturally-occurring radioactive gas and a leading cause of lung cancer. Radon can enter your home through cracks in the foundation, and because it’s odorless and colorless, the only way to detect it is with a professional inspection. If your GPI inspector finds radon in your home, a radon mitigation system can be installed to keep your family safe.

Regular use of your home’s fireplace creates creosote, a black, oily substance on the interior surfaces of your chimney. Creosote buildup is highly combustible and causes chimney fires, which can melt mortar and create a pathway for fire to spread throughout your home. Your GPI inspector can check for creosote buildup, determine the condition of your chimney and recommend needed repairs.
